Eight Ways to Use Your Engagement Photos

Knowing the end uses before the session changes which frames we prioritize.

An engagement session produces 40 to 60 finished images. Most couples use three. A little planning turns the rest into things you’ll actually see — and tells your photographer which frames to prioritize on the day.

Before the wedding

  • Save-the-dates. The obvious one. You need a horizontal frame with room for text and a vertical option.
  • Wedding website header. A wide, uncluttered frame that reads at a glance.
  • Sign-in canvas or guest book. A large-format print or a printed photo book guests sign instead of a plain register.
  • Welcome sign and reception decor. A favorite portrait blown up on an easel at the entrance.

At and after the wedding

  • Thank-you cards. A different frame from the save-the-date so it feels fresh.
  • Wall art at home. One good large print now, before the wedding gallery competes for space.
  • Framed prints for parents. An easy, well-received gift.
  • Social announcement. A vertical, phone-friendly crop for the actual proposal-news post.

Tell your photographer the plan

If we know you want a save-the-date, a website banner and a sign-in canvas, we’ll deliberately shoot wide horizontals with copy space, clean vertical portraits, and at least one frame that holds up printed three feet wide. Say so before the session, not after.

Frequently asked questions

How many images come with an engagement session?
Our sessions typically deliver 40–60 edited high-resolution images in an online gallery with print ordering built in.
Can you help with the save-the-date design?
We can recommend stationers and provide correctly sized, print-ready files. Some couples hand the gallery straight to their invitation designer.
